It had been a few months since my son had had his hair cut, and the “Yahoo Serious meets Robert Smith” thing was starting to get old… especially when we had to spend extra time brushing his hair in the morning before school!  We visited Perfect Look for a nice fresh “Spring look” near where we live in Milwaukie, and it was all smiles as usual!  Perfect Look have numerous locations around the Portland/Vancouver Metro area, so be sure to visit one to freshen up your look for Spring as well!

So, I’ve been playing with this system for a few weeks now, and the fun still hasn’t stopped.  What really hooked my son first off with the Kinect for the XBox 360 was the fact that the amount of interaction you get to have with the system, not to mention the games themselves, far exceeds what we were doing before.  I mean, the XBox 360 is a great system, and playing Star Wars Lego until our eyes glaze over is fine, if you’re trying to unlock a bunch of things in the game, but that sort of fun can only go so far, right?  What my son is the biggest fan of is the fact that he’s been able to unlock certain achievements in the Kinect games that let him add “flavor” to his avatar.  I mean, since you have the option of having your avatar actually playing the games that you’re moving around in with the Kinect, you want your digital self to look cool, right?  Well… my avatar certainly looks like me, but something tells me I need a bit more flair.  I’ll be working on that.  In the meantime, find out more about the Kinect for the XBox 360 at kinect.me

Last weekend, marked the first full weekend that I had the Kinect for the XBox 360 at my house, and needless to say, it got a LOT of use!  My son and I had already played some of the games on it (most notably the Kinect Sports and Kinectimals titles), but my wife also had the chance to get in on the action when she was taking a break from work.  So, Saturday afternoon our 6 year old son had one of his friends over for a few hours, and the two of them had a ton of fun with the Kinect for the XBox 360.  Even though this other little boy had NEVER even seen the Kinect before, he quickly learned the moves and strategy necessary to play the games well.  The two of them had the most fun with cooperative play in the table tennis game on Kinect Sports (as seen in the photo below).  It was great seeing them throw each other high fives and jump around in celebration after a slam or an ace.  Their avatars even mimicked their moves!  In a few days, I’m going to bite the bullet and start working with the Kinect Fitness game.  Wish me luck!
